Another hard day ends on a happy note.

Sure, I have intense pain with virtually any movement thanks to surgery. Yes, they poisoned me today.

But it ends on a happy note once again.

You might ask why.

Because I'm in love?

Because I know in my heart of hearts that I did my best today despite it all?

Because of my enduring faith in God?

Nope.

Vicodin. Blessed, blessed Vicodin.

Strength of spirit, personal faith and the ability to deal with pain and still keep fighting are all wonderful and necessary, but when you need to get some sleep, none of them beat the big V.

I'm tempted to write a sermon.

I really do love Vicodin. I got some of it when I had my wisdom teeth pulled. Once the pain from the surgery was gone and I was recovered, I still had some left. I just popped those babies whenever I wanted to feel great. That stuff is amazing.

If I had unending access, it would be real easy to become addicted. And real fun.

Insomnia again.
I try lots of different things to get to sleep. Tonight it's herbal tea.
The Vicodin sounds like it works better.

I used to know a guy who liked nothing better than to get wasted with his friends. Someone asked him, "What do you do when you can't get any booze?" (he was under twenty-one at the time), and he responded, "That's what Vicodin's for." Mmm, alcohol pills...

Wait a second.

Didn't I see an unending stream of jokes on the liberal blogs when Rush got addicted to Vicodin? I guess it depends on who the Vicodin user is.

Still, I do love me some Vicodin.

I'm not addicted. I can stop any time I want.
