Whenever I get stuck going to a kids sporting event I see parents on the sidelines screaming, yelling and swearing at the coaches, referees and opposing players. Not surprising that some get physical sometimes after watching how they act at the games.
At least they give us non-kid folks who got roped into being there something entertaining to watch.

When I was in high school, I worked as ref for weekend city league soccer games for some extra cash. I never had any trouble at all with parents or coaches.

I think the times have changed. I mean, when I was on the job it was the early/middle 80s.

When I was in high school (we're talking early 70's) it was almost unheard of to see any parents at any of our high school games. I don't recall my mother ever making one swim meet, even the city championships.

Sounds Greek to me.
