I got mine.
I'm thinking I'll start reading it tomorrow after Tiger wins the British Open and before the Yankees and Red Sox play at 6.
That is, if I can pry it away from Mrs. Popping Culture, which, of course, in my condition I can't.

Plenty of critics are saying "The Half-blood Prince" is the best one yet. The NYT compared it to Lord of the Rings, even, and LA Times compared it to Charlotte's Web, which is intriguing, because Rowling said a "major character" dies in this one.

Oh that is so CRUEL. That makes me cry.
My daughter pre-ordered it from Amazon, apparently, because it came to her yesterday. Before she started she skipped to the end to see what would happen (she gets that from me) and we heard shouts of "Aha!" and cries of anguish. And she took the time out to draw a self-portrait that shows her reading the book and realizing that after 4 years of Latin she understands the spells, and post that to her LiveJournal blog that I am normally not allowed to read.

Well, I DO have the option of going pathetic.
Mrs. Popping Culture is reading the book. I start coughing worse than usual. I get weaker. "Help! I have cancer... I just want to read a little Harry Potter before the lights go out..."
