While we're spending all our money in Iraq, China is making huge advances.

Although I'm not sure I'm comfortable with the word "advance" here.

How would you like to be the guy in charge of getting the samples? What do you have to do to obtain such things?

Jim, I'm sure there's a Rosanne Barr joke in there somewhere.

Or a Rosie.

Speaking as a professional in this line of work...
Samples on large animals (like the giant hogs that resemble the Goodyear Blimp) are usually taken with a prosthetic device.
Samples on animals that can be restrained manually are usually obtained manually.
My funniest memory of tech school was when they showed us a film of a vet tech - just like we were studying to be - obtaining a sample on a Great Dane. There she was, dressed in her little tech smock and latex gloves and there was the Dane with a huge grin on his doggy face.
My classmates were all studiously taking notes, but I started snorting, then snickering, then dissolving into one of those laughing fits that make you think you'll suffocate or wet yourself because you can't stop.
Our professor stopped the film and very sternly asked me just what I thought I was doing.
My answer was unintelligible, except for two words: Linda Lovelace.
Class was essentially over after that.
Funny, I aced that course. Ah, college...
