I only have eyes for Harry.

I was shocked to see that there are several other movies coming out this holiday season besides Harry Potter. Why would we need another movie? OK, maybe Walk the Line, but come on.

And at least two of them are rip offs of other pretty recent movies. I guess people will watch anything the theatres put out on Thanksgiving day.

My daughter is waiting for Harry 4 with some anxiety -- she hates when they get it wrong -- another daughter will drive an hour to see it with us on Saturday. The MAD parody just came out, and it's hysterical.
One thing I'm sure they won't have time for is the very funny scene in the book where wizards are trying to blend in to the muggle world by wearing what they believe to be ordinary muggle clothes - one man, walking around in a nightgown, protests "But I got it in a muggle shop!"

The good thing about having a bad memory is that when I see a movie based on a book I've read, I don't remember what did or didn't make it in or what's different. It's like a whole new experience for me!

that's a very useful trait...there are plenty of movies I would have enjoyed much more if the book wasn't fresh in my mind...like "Gone With the Wind" -- I saw it right after I read the book, in high school -- ruined the movie for me.
But this Harry movie is going to be great.
