May: Not So Good Any More

Over the last couple of months, I've been noticing that August is getting closer and closer. I've been giving thought to what I should do on August 12 and what will happen after that. I've also realized that it won't be just August 12 that will be hard for me. Starting August 9, just about every day in August was pretty terrible last year. I'm considering stocking up on supplies (i.e. ice cream and taco dip) and shutting myself in for a few weeks.

But then I thought "Why should August suck all by itself? There are other perfectly decent months that could shoulder the burden."

So, May sucks, too.

It was on this day last year that Elwood, our beautiful black cat and brother to Jake, was put to sleep, ending his own battle with cancer. I made him a marker with the same words on it that Danny put on Jake's in 1998.

Elwood really was a good cat.

I miss him. I think even Polly misses him, too.

In other May-related news, next week would have been our 10th wedding anniversary. I'm sure I'll have more to say about that later.
